German Christmas tradition with the Incense Smoker Caspar, 22 cm by KWO
A distinguished Wise Man with charming handcrafted details
The Incense Smoker Caspar, 22 cm by KWO depicts Caspar, one of the Three Wise Men, as a characterful figure from Germany’s Erzgebirge region. Standing proudly on a natural wooden base, he wears a deep red, colourful glazed coat that allows the beautiful grain of the wood to remain visible. His dark clothing underneath creates an attractive contrast, while golden buttons, a twisted decorative belt and subtle embellishments emphasise his regal appearance.
His long white beard and sweeping moustache immediately catch the eye. The friendly face is framed by a tall dark headdress crowned with a golden sphere. Caspar carries a small vessel with a curved pipe in one hand and a larger ceremonial container decorated with golden details in the other. Black shoes and the simple round base complete this harmonious figure, giving it the unmistakable appearance of traditional German Christmas folk art.
